
This year’s Carnival in Venice is going to be officially started in he evening of Saturday, February 6, 2010 with the performance Arlecchino, Servant of Two Masters, played by Ferruccio Soleri.
There will be ten days of theatre performances, exhibitions, lights, fireworks, and thousands of masks wandering around Venice, and its land counterpartner – Mestre.
Few hours before the performance Piazza San Marco is going to witness the grand opening of Carnevale addressed to the youngest ones.
Traditionally, there are many of events commenced around the St. Mark Square, but this year Carnevale edition brings dozens of events and performances spread all over the city.
The Carnival motto is Sensation ‘6 sensi per 6 sestieri’ meaning ‘6 senses for 6 historic districts of Venice’. Each small district sestriere is responsible for different sense, and so
Santa Croce means smell, taste rules in Cannaregio, sight in San Polo ,Castello brings touch, Dorsoduro hearing , and all sensess add the mind in the San Marco.
