With this tour you save on time twice. First by skipping the enormous queuing line, which is unfortunately common in Vatican Museum, and by choosing the private tour you can choose your favourite subjects and skip the less important items of art collections.
The personal guide waits near the main entrance to the Vatican Museum, where the tour begins.
The private tour covers three iconic symbols of Vatican:
• Vatican Museum : See one of the largest art collections in the world, spanning from Roman, Etruscan and Egyptian antiquities to contemporary art. Learn about the famous Popes of Rome, their love for art, and their glamorous lives in one of the most enlightened periods in Italian history, the Renaissance.
• Sistine Chapel : The Sistine Chapel, in the Apostolic Palace, is the official residence of the Pope in the Vatican City. The chapel is famous for its architecture, and the frescoes by the greatest Renaissance artists, including the legendary ceiling by Michelangelo.
• St. Peter’s Basilica and Square : This immense area houses many precious works including the breathtaking Pieta’ by Michelangelo, and Bernini’s papal canopy. The tomb of Saint Peter is the focal point of the basilica.
The tour ends at St. Peter’s Square
