The comprehensive introduction to Venice combines the walking tour through famous squares and streets of Venice, a visit to Basilica San Marco and the boat ride along the Grand Canal.
The professional guide starts their story near the entrance to the Royal Gardens (Giardini ex Reali), soon the group move to Piazza San Marco to experience the most famous landmarks of Venice. You will enter the Basilica to see the golden splendour of the most important church of Serenissima, and to pass by the long line of visitors waiting to enter. After listening to explanation about the most important buildings around the suqare you will move around Doge’s Palace to see the Bridge of Whispers, once filled with voices of prisoners waiting for their sentences.
Leaving the crowds behind, you’ll enter a labyrinth of narrow passageways, alleys, canals and delicate bridges.
Along your journey through the labyrinth you will encounter Campo Santa Maria Formosa, Marco Polo’s House, an old merchant’s warehouse and the most beautiful well-head in Venice, before finishing the tour near the Rialto Bridge.
Then after the free time you will jumb aboarb a boat to see the Venice from the perspective of merchants arriving to the city and see the magnificent facades of the buildings during your tour along Canale Grande.
