• Orto Botanico: The botanical garden on the suburbs of Palermo is famous for various species, including 150 years old fig tree with aerial roots, bamboo, bottle shaped kapok trees, various exotic palms and tropical plants.

• Stazione Centrale: The main railroad station.
The 17th century church of Sant Antonio is located nearby.

• Palazzo Reale: An Emir residence rebuilt by Normans features the Capella Palatina with Byzantine frescoes. At present the palace is the seat of the parliament of Sicily, but some historical rooms are open for visitors.

• Cattedrale: The cathedral features Gothic portal from 1430, and 18th century interior. within the walls you may find Arab inscriptions, remains of the ancient mosque rebuilt by Normans in 12th century.

• Mercato Vucciria: The old and popular open air market of Palermo.

• Giardino Inglese: The small artificial lake and sculptures scattered within exotic plants are the scenery for summer concerts of local artists. Near English Garden there is the local prison Ucciardone infamous for Mafia trials.

• Villa Malfitano: It is one of Palermo’s grand villa palaces. Built for Giuseppe Whitaker an descendant of English family, which moved to Sicily in 19th century.

• Castello Della Zisa: The Norman Castle built in 12th century gets its name from the Arab word aziz, meaning splendid.

• Mercato Del Capo:It is a famous food and fish market.

• Porto:The Porto Palermo bay houses the Ali Pasha Fortress .
