Pauline Borghese as Goddess of Love by Canova
This tour allows to skip the waiting line for entrance tickets to one of the richest and most interesting villas in Rome.
The expositions in villa Borghese are divided into the sculptures part on the ground floor called Museo , and the Galleria of the paintings on the first floor.
The tour fee includes the tickets both to the permanent and temporary exhibitions.
You will meet an English speaking expert guide in front of the main entrance to Villa, and enjoy about 2 hours tour through the vast collection of
Cardinal Scipione Borghese and his descendants.
The Cardinal commissioned from the young Bernini several sculptures, that later became the most popular works of the artists.
Among the others you can see David, Rape of Proserpine, and Apollo and Dafne, at the unfortunate moment, in which she is changing into the tree.
The next sculpture of Pauline as Venus brought plenty of rumour after the creation, due to nudity of a model, which was the sister of Napoleon herself.
The gallery of the paintings include masterpieces by Caravaggio St.Jerome, Titian Sacred and Profane Love, Raphael, Rubens and Perugino.
Later the tour goes into the park, where during about an hour you will see several buildings, fountains and sculptures hidden among the green gardens.
The most interesting include Casino dell’Uccelliera, Fontana dei Puppazzi and Piazza di Siena with Temple of Diana.

The tour ends with the magnificent panorama of the city at Pincio Terrace, inside of the park, which is opened till sunset.
