Between famous green wineyards covering the morenic hills around Lake Iseo erects majestic Palace Torri, the splendid example of fortificated residence of Italian aristocracy.
In 17th century Federici della Corte commisioned the villa, which was built on the site of former military outpost in the following centuries was rebuilt by family Peroni di Brescia.
Several architects contibuted to different details adorning villa in 18th and 19th centuries. Paolina Calegari Torri with her husband Alessandro transformated the palace into the ‘cultural centre’ of an era, with numerous feasts, meetings and other cultural events. The palace witnessed many of great Italian artists, including writers like Giosuè Carducci, Antonio Fogazzaro, painters like Francesco Michetti, composers, scientists and men of state.
This tradition is sustained in present times by Cortefranca Cultural Association, which organises concets ana cultural activities in Palazo Torri.
