Palace Borromeo Arese has been commissioned by Giulio Varese to add the splendour to his family, growin nto the power at the beginning of the 17th century. It is a splendid example of architecture developed gradually in successive phases, where the exterior elegance promises and delivers splendorous and majestic decoration of the interiors.
The grave facade with the wide ‘Piazza Esedra’ , the elegant internal courtyard supressed by the aerial loggia make the appropriate prelude to the marvellous rooms with the frescoes painted by the gratest Lombardian masters of the time. The great names include Procaccini, Montalto, Nuvolone, who were working upon commision of the Arese and Borromeo families.
The main masterpieces are the Salone della Giustizia (Courtoom ), Sala Aurora (Aurora’s room) and the Gallery of the Statues dipicting the members of the families. After the thorough and huge in scale renovation the rooms are open for public for the first time.
The Palace is surrounded by old Italian style garden with beautiful roses adding the colorful touch to the residence complex.
