A small tourist resort away from traffic noise guarantees the relaxed holidays with perfect views on Lake Garda and snow covered during winter Monte Baldo.
A couple of centuries passed by since St.Francis has chosen a nearby island as a place for his first hermitage, but the area around Gardone still attracts summer and winter visitors, as the temperature here never goes below zero of Celsius.
It has been rediscovered for the modern world at the end of 19th century by German doctors, who soon changed the town into recognized health spa.

Gardone Riviera

The central point of Gardone , Wimmer Square, witnessed royal families, rich and famous from all over the world, including Winston Churchill in 1949, and Vladimir Nabokov in 1965.
The picturesque streets ashore of Garda are populated with oleander, orange and multicolored roses. During the day they are a true oasis of peace and tranquility where time seems to stand still. In the evening this magical area is transformed into a stage where alternate musical evenings, cultural events, exhibitions and markets.

The paths that lead from Gardone Riviera towards the mountain offer spectacular views admired by hikers, mountain bikers and horseriders.
On the mountain slopes you can practice gliding and paragliding, within the hills one can find a recognized golf course, and the Lake invites to
practice all water sports from water skiing, sailing, surfing and kite surfing.

A short distance away, the youngest ones will be delighted with the park of Gardaland and Caneva water park.

The surrounding hills hide Il Vittoriale the villa created by Gabriele d’Annunzio with the idea to gather all symbols of victory and power of the reunited country.
The visitors will see the navy vessel commanded once by d’Annunzio, a military plane from WW I and other various national items,( however smaller in size).

There is another place perfect for holiday tourists – the Botanical Garden of Andre Heller Foundation, established in 1910 by Arthur Hruska, and today covers 10 000 sq m with exotic vegetation and a collection of sculptures scattered all over the park. You will find here the works of Keith Haring, Roy Lichtenstein, Mimmo Paladino or Joan Mirò.

The artist lovers will be interested in an exhibition of over 200 of religious sculptures in wood, wax, clay or papier mache gathered in Hiky Mayr Divine Infant collection.
