In 2013 Val Gardena / South Tyrol is going to host the Olympics of the International Federation of Popular Sports (IVV) .
From 26 to 30 June 2013 amateur athletes from around the world will be in the Ladin valley to attend the Olympic Games organized by the Popular Tourist Association and local “Lia Ciambonfs” with the Association of South Tyrol People’s Sports, a member of the federation International IVV. Participants will compete in the disciplines: trekking, walking, swimming, cycling and skating. The peculiarity of these games is not in competition, but in showing the passion for the sport and share it with others.
The Val Gardena in 2013 will be the center of the national sports movement.
There are up to 10,000 international members of associations are popular sport expected to participate in the Olympiade.
From 26 to 30 June 2013 walk, will pedal, skate and swim together. In contrast to the Olympic games of professionals, where there reigns a relentless race against time and their rivals, but the particularity of these games is the spirit of community and the desire to move along with others. This way everyone can participate in the events in the Dolomites and know one of the most beautiful landscapes of the Alps, since 2009 UNESCO World Heritage of humanity.
The disciplines are set for these Olympics: the March on tracks of different lengths, the bicycle rides, swimming and ice skating. They are also available to participants various related activities such as climbing, bouldering, mountain biking and freeriding the slacklining.
The evening will feature outdoor events, a way to exchange experiences with popular sport enthusiasts from all over the world.
The International Federation of Popular Sports includes 5,500 individual sports associations from 49 countries. 14 million people participate each year in events organized by various associations of prevailing fun and collective movement. The “highlight” is the organization of the IVV Olympiad, an international exchange that takes place every two years and brings together many sports fans in the municipality Olympic spirit: “The important thing is to participate”!
Everyone can take part in this event, there will be no measurement athletic performance, only noted the participation in the various disciplines.
Recently the IVV Olympiade took place in 2007 in Estonia, in 2009 Japan and 2011 in Turkey.
